Subject: HIST 151
Facilitator/Teacher: Michael Ryan
Socratic seminar the Epic of Gilgamesh was made to familiarize the students with the Epic of Gilgamesh, where each student had to learn and then provide his own ideas in the textbook. After the seminar, the students are given two days to write an essay, which will be later used to check the knowledge of the historical events. Communication skills were used for this assignment when the students had to communicate with each other and present their understanding of the story and the historical events of the time. I am proud of this assignment due to that it is time-consuming and requires a good amount of knowledge of the historical and story events to be able to present it in the seminar. This assignment takes a lot of effort and time to complete. I developed the 21-century skill by communicating with other students and making effort to communicate and properly present my ideas to the class. This relates to my past seminars where I had to learn and present my own ideas about the historical events and how they went in order. This could be applied for future learning with that seminar show a great amount of solidarity to other students and seminars help to learn how to work with other people who have different ideas from mine.
